I hope you all had a relaxing and rejuvenating weekend. My college roommate (hereafter known as “roomie”) came to visit, so ours was full of fun, exploring, and Gilmore Girls. Who else is incredibly excited for the return of GG on November 25? *raises hand*
Our weekend kicked off with some turkey burgers (love the frozen ones from TJ’s) before roomie arrived. We spent lots of time chatting before turning in for the night – we had a lot on the agenda for the next day.
Saturday I woke up early to throw together a French Toast Casserole (recipe coming soon!) and went for a three mile run while the casserole sat in the fridge, just waiting for my return and it’s trip into the oven to become a delicious breakfast for us all. We piled into Tim’s car and headed to downtown Cleveland to take roomie on a walking tour of the city. Luckily for us, the rain held off until the afternoon and we were able to explore all of the fun Cleveland has to offer. Fellow Clevelanders – what are your fave things to do downtown? The new public square is AWESOME!
Before we left, we stopped by the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame so Tim could pick up his race packet for the following morning. He is ready to rock his half!
We headed out to Ohio City for lunch at TownHall. <- Best restaurant ever. I seriously go there every.single.time. I’m in OC. They have a wide variety of meals on their menu and always, always have healthy options. After TownHall, we attempted to visit one of the local beaches but the sky quickly turned ominous, so grabbing ice cream and heading home sounded like the perfect alternative.
The rest of Saturday was fairly low-key and included lots of Gilmore Girls and an early bedtime. Our Sunday alarms would come early so we could get Tim downtown for his half marathon!
Roomie and I spent most of our Sunday cheering on Tim and the other runners. Races always fill my heart with so much happiness – watching others tackle a huge challenge and accomplish their goal after months of hard work and dedication is a humbling and unique experience.
But my heart was even happier knowing this guy finished his THIRD half marathon. So proud of him for pushing through this intense summer heat and humidity during training and yesterday’s race.
Uhm…how cool is that finisher’s medal? It’s a guitar!!!
And just like that, our weekend was nearly over and I spent my evening on the couch with, you guessed it, more Gilmore Girls and getting ready for the week ahead. Can’t stop, won’t stop. My heart lies in Stars Hollow 😉
Here’s to a great week ahead! I hope you all have a Marvelous Monday!
What did you do this weekend? Any runs, races, beach days, or adventures?
