“Wake up an hour early to live an hour more.”
This quote prompted me to reexamine my wake up time. I had been feeling like I had no extra time for things I enjoy, things keep me healthy, and things need to get done that aren’t my job. Some of these things include: watching the morning news, blogging, Alpha Phi Omega section chair business, wedding planning, and even exercise (horrible, I know, but I’m just keeping it real!). I knew something had to change and that it was on me to make myself find time for everything.
This is the first week I’m setting my alarm for 5:00 AM. Its Wednesday and I’ve succeeded in not hitting snooze twice (Monday and today) and failed once. Practice makes progress, right?
I am enjoying the mornings MUCH more when I wake up early. I crawl out of bed and push play on whatever Beachbody workout I have planned for the day. Since I’m not training for anything right now (and it’s dark until I have to leave for work!), I’m staying indoors and focused on lower impact cardio, strength, + flexibility in preparation for flying pig training to amp up in January. Whoops…did I just let the cat out of the bag?!
Back to the early morning! My mornings now have more time for some things I enjoy and I’m loving it so far. Things like:

The reason I’m sharing it here is to help hold me accountable. It’s much harder to hit snooze when I know I have to post about my day later! It’s only been three days…so I’ll come back in a few weeks once I’ve adjusted to this new routine and share my tips for waking up early!
